The Carioca ESG Racial Seal will be launched by the Municipal Department of Environment and Climate on Thursday (04/04), from 4pm to 6pm, at the National Historical Museum (Praça Marechal Âncora s/n, Centro). The event, which is part of the 1st African Nations Week Luzia de Pinta, was postponed due to the possibility of heavy rain in the city between the 21st and 24th of this month. The event is being held in partnership with the Pact for the Promotion of Racial Equity Association.

The objective of the seal is to recognize private companies, civil society organizations and public institutions in the “commitment” and “responsibility” categories in combating racism and ethnic-racial inequalities. The development cycle lasts one year, divided into three parts of 2, 6 and 4 months.

The Carioca ESG Racial Seal is made up of three axes with variables corresponding to activities developed within the scope of the environment (E), the promotion of racial equity (R) and governance (G). The axes, in turn, are grouped into two main indices: ESG Racial Equity Index, which makes up the “R” axis metric, and the Environment and Governance Index (IEG), of the “E” and “G” axes. ”.

Adherence to the Racial ESG Protocol of the Racial Equity Promotion Pact and the presentation of the IEER Certification – ESG Racial Equity Index (N1) are fundamental premises for applying to receive the seal from public and private institutions.

The launch ceremony will be open to the public.
