The activities began in the municipality of Iranduba (27 kilometers from Manaus), where Ipaam technicians, Vandete Sousa and Gilmar Costa, are carrying out actions in several state schools in the municipality. Until this Wednesday (27/03), two more schools will be included in environmental awareness activities.

The CEO, Juliano Valente, emphasizes that environmental education actions are essential so that, in the future, the reduction of crimes against nature, such as fires and deforestation, is increasingly greater and the occurrence of these crimes is lower.

“Environmental Education makes people aware of the importance and responsibility of protecting the environment. Ipaam believes that by educating our children, the message reaches their parents more effectively. Ipaam works intensively not only on the repression and administrative punishment of the offender, but also on these guidance actions in schools, which is where it all starts”, points out the Ipaam head.

The NEA team carries out environmental education actions in partnership with the municipal Environment Departments, raising awareness about the prevention of fires and highlighting the need for the entire community to engage in protecting the environment. The initiative is part of Ipaam’s commitment to promoting awareness and preservation of natural resources in the Amazon region.
