The Specialized Road Policing Command (CEPRv), belonging to the Military Police of Bahia, will reinforce policing on Bahia’s state highways on the days of the long holiday. Operation Semana Santa 2024 will take place from March 28th to April 1st and aims to reinforce preventive actions at strategically defined points, based on previously collected information and statistics from previous years.

“Operation Semana Santa will take place from 7am tomorrow (28) until 7am next Monday (1)”, informs Colonel Antônio Sampaio, commander of CEPRv. “We recommend that drivers do not drink alcoholic beverages, respect road signs and speed limits, drive defensively and check the condition of the vehicles they will be traveling in,” he adds.

Reinforcement – The BA-099 highway, which connects Salvador to an extensive coastal strip going up to the border with Sergipe, will be included, in addition to the roads that connect the municipalities of the RMS. Other locations in the state will have reinforced road patrol actions.

On Itaparica Island, there will be reinforcement at the maritime terminal and BA-001. Access to the municipalities of Vitória da Conquista, Brumado, Itapetinga, Ilhéus, Mucuri, Porto Seguro, Itacaré, Canavieiras, Luís Eduardo Magalhães and Barreiras, among others, will also have reinforced policing.
