Manaus/AM – A 27-year-old man, whose identity was not disclosed, was arrested for rape of a vulnerable person against a 13-year-old teenager. The crime occurred on April 18, 2023, in the Alto Paraíso community, a rural area of the municipality.
According to delegate Wagna Costa, from the Humaitá DEP, the crime occurred on the day the victim went to play at a friend’s house in that community. On this occasion, the author took advantage of the moment when the teenager was alone in the house, after her colleague and her mother left for an appointment.
“The man was a resident of the community and had already tried to abuse the victim’s sister as well. The teenager’s mother became aware of the crime after receiving a call from a friend, reporting that her daughter had been sexually abused in the locality, and went to the police station to report the offender”, explained Wagna.
According to the delegate, the victim confirmed that she had been raped by the man. Carnal conjunction exams were also carried out and she was referred to the Guardianship Council for monitoring by the Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance (Creas).
Based on all the elements collected, he was represented in court for his preventive detention, and the court order was decreed by the Judiciary. The author’s arrest took place in that same location.
The individual will be charged with rape of a vulnerable person and will be available to the Judiciary.
