State authorizes construction of duplication of PA-481, in Barcarena

The State government today kicked off the long-awaited duplication of the PA-481 highway, in the Peteca interchange section, in Barcarena, in the metropolitan region of Belém. The act of signing the service order was carried out by governor Helder Barbalho , the mayor of Barcarena, Renato Ogawa and other municipal and state authorities.

“We are pointing out the solution to a serious problem and one that has been expected for a long time in this city. Signing this service order is another step in the construction of a government that has sought to establish a rhythm and level of investment in the State, to transform life and improve Pará at every moment and every moment. This work dialogues with the present and corrects a problem from the past, but above all, it projects a future for this region, so that increasingly, with urban organization, we can make Barcarena, Vila dos Cabanos and all the towns and districts can have more employment, income and social development opportunities in Vila do Conde for this city and our population”, highlighted Governor Helder Barbalho.

The initiative will receive an investment of more than R$71 million. The expectation is that the duplication of more than 12 kilometers in length of the highway will not only improve traffic, but also significantly increase road safety.

“With wider and more modern roads, a reduction in congestion and accidents is expected, providing safer and more efficient travel for users. Furthermore, the works have the potential to boost the economic development of the region. With an improved transport infrastructure, new business opportunities may arise, encouraging private investment and stimulating the growth of local industries”, informed Adler Silveira, head of the State Department of Transport (Setran), the body responsible for the work.

Expectation – The residents of Barca enthusiastically welcomed this initiative, which promises not only to facilitate daily travel, but also to open doors to a more prosperous future.

“It’s a big improvement for our city, it will help with the traffic of goods, with our own movement, so we can only benefit from this”, said brush cutter Rosivaldo Lopes, 58 years old.

General service Rose Moreira was excited to hear about the work. “I have always lived here in Barcarena, in the past this entrance to the city was just a path, access was very difficult, there have also been many accidents. Today, I see my modern Barcarena and with this duplication it will be even more beautiful, a much better future”, said the resident.
