With the new legislation, overtime payments for professionals will no longer have an income tax discount.

Governor Elmano de Freitas sanctioned, this Wednesday (27), the law that creates the Operational Service Reinforcement Daily (DRSO) for military, civil and criminal police officers, as well as military firefighters. The new legislation guarantees the payment of overtime to these professionals without income tax deduction. The decree for the acquisition of new uniforms for military personnel was also signed. The announcement took place via the head of the State Executive’s social networks and was attended by the heads of the State’s Public Security Forces.

Elmano de Freitas reinforced the importance of the support of the Legislative Assembly of Ceará (Alece) in approving the law for better conditions for security professionals. “Today, we had signatures of very important acts for Public Security in Ceará. I would like to thank all the deputies who helped in this process. This is just a gesture seeking to provide the best conditions for our professionals, aiming to deliver the security that our population deserves,” he said. The men of the Ceará Security Force deployed throughout the state for this week’s holiday will already benefit from the new law.

“We also signed the decree to change the format for purchasing uniforms for our police officers. Instead of bidding, we will pass the resources directly to the police officer so that he can buy his uniform himself, trusting our men”, added the governor. Each soldier will be entitled to a new uniform with pants, shirt, inner shirt, socks, belt and a pair of gloves. The uniform is provided annually.

Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Samuel Elânio thanked the Government of Ceará for its support in yet another action aimed at improving the conditions of police officers and other military personnel. “This new law is a gigantic gain that will have a direct impact on the commitment and willingness of our police and military. We will have a more dedicated professional on the streets, with a real gain, with actions that will be reflected in our safety indices”, he celebrated.

For Evandro Leitão, president of Alece, acts like this Wednesday show the sensitivity of the Government of Ceará to an issue as important as public security. “Actions like the one we are seeing today demonstrate the sensitivity of our ruler, of those who are at the forefront of Ceará’s destiny. I am very happy with the approval of these measures, long-standing demands of the corporation. The population of Ceará can continue to count on Alece”, he pointed out.

The event was attended by the general commander of the Military Police of Ceará (PMCE), Klênio Savyo; the general delegate of the Civil Police of Ceará (PCCE), Márcio Gutierrez; the general commander of the Ceará Military Fire Brigade (CBMCE), Cláudio Barreto; among other authorities.
