“Operation Holy Week 2024”: Security Forces professionals will work on the weekend

In order to strengthen the presence of the Security Forces of Ceará, during the Holy Week holiday, the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (SSPDS) carries out, from 6 pm this Thursday (28), the “Operation Week Santa 2024”, which will end at 6 am next Monday, April 1st. The operational actions will be carried out in all Integrated Security Areas (AISs) in Ceará, with the daily work of 5,171 Public Security agents. The details were presented at a press conference, this Wednesday (27), at the Integrated Public Security Center (Cisp), in Fortaleza.

The offensive is coordinated by the Integrated Operational Planning Coordination (Copol) of the SSPDS. In total, there will be 4,352 military police officers, 180 civil police officers, 504 military firefighters, 73 Pefoce employees and 14 professionals from the Intelligence Coordination (Coin), six from the Operational Planning Coordination (Copol) and 42 from the Integrated Air Operations Coordination (Ciopaer). ) from SSPDS, totaling 5,171 security agents, who will work day-to-day during the four-day holiday in Ceará.

Military police

The Military Police of Ceará (PMCE) will have all the corporation’s units, such as General Ostensive Policing (POG), Shock Policing Command (CPChoque), Intensive and Ostensive Actions Round Policing Command (CPRaio), Prevention Command and Community Support (Copac) and other specialized units of the corporation, such as the State Urban and Highway Traffic Police Battalion (BPRE). The troops embarked this Wednesday morning (27) from the General Command Headquarters (QCG). During the launch of the operation, three new vessels were presented, which will be used by the Environmental Police Battalion, in observation patrols, inspection and overt policing.

Of the three vessels, two are aluminum boats, each with a gross tonnage of six (06) meters, one (01) 30 HP outboard motor, one (01) road trailer (trailer), hood and with a maximum capacity of six (06) crew or up to 550 kilos. This equipment is budgeted at R$94.6 thousand. This vessel model will operate in inland waters, including bays, coves, and in lake environments (rivers, lagoons, lakes and dams). In an innovative way, the Military Police of Ceará also acquired one (01) semi-rigid boat, flexboat model, with a gross tonnage of 4.3 meters, a 30 HP outboard motor, a road trailer (trailer) with a roof and with maximum capacity of six crew members or 1,000 (thousand) kilos. The flexboat is budgeted at R$102,200. This vessel model will operate in inland waters, including maritime areas (coves, bays and estuaries) or in lake environments without heavy vegetation. The advantage of this vessel model, in relation to the previous ones, is that it has hydrodynamics that favor increased speed, reduces fuel consumption and provides smoother navigation.

State highways

In the CEs, 337 BPRE military police officers will work in preventive and overt actions, with the aim of promoting greater safety and fluidity on state highways during Operation Semana Santa. Inspection will be intensified to curb speeding, alcohol consumption while driving and other traffic violations, with the aim of reducing accidents and providing safety to users. The PMs will have 41 vehicles, 84 motorcycles, 15 tow trucks, 27 fixed posts and nine Advanced Inspection Posts.

Civil police

The Civil Police of the State of Ceará (PCCE) will maintain on-call police stations on duty. In Fortaleza, the police stations of the 2nd Police District (2nd DP), 10th DP, 13th DP, 30th DP, 32nd DP, 34th DP will operate, in addition to the Women’s Defense Police Station (DDM) and the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection ( DHPP). In the Metropolitan Region and Interior North and South, the Regional and Municipal police stations, which serve AISs 11,12,13, 14, 15,16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24 and 25, will also operate in on-call regime.

Fire Department

The Military Fire Department of the State of Ceará (CBMCE) will carry out preventive work in places where there will be public gatherings. The 504 military firefighters will respond to incidents involving water rescue, in addition to monitoring fire and panic safety in buildings, as well as pre-hospital medical emergencies.

Pefoce

The centers of Forensic Expertise of the State of Ceará (Pefoce) in the Capital, in Sobral, Itapipoca, Canindé, Crateús, Quixeramobim, Juazeiro do Norte, Iguatu, Tauá and Russas will operate with a daily staff of 73 employees.
