State deputy Roberto Hashioka (União Brasil) presented a congratulatory motion to businessman Sérgio Marcolino Longen during the ordinary session of the Legislative Assembly this Thursday, 27th. The motion was proposed due to his appointment to hold the position of Honorary Consul of Japan in Mato Grosso do Sul.

Born in Toledo, Paraná, in 1965, he moved to Dourados (MS) in 1977. In search of new opportunities, he went to Roraima in 1981, when he began his business career, with the trade of agricultural products, and expanded businesses investing in the areas of gas stations and transport. There, he was president of the Fuel Dealers Union and one of the pioneers in founding the Roraima Commerce Federation.

He returned to Mato Grosso do Sul in 1991 and, three years later, started operations at Semalo, a food industry, in Campo Grande. He was president of the Food Industries Union of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul (Siams) and director-advisor of the Federation of Industries of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul (Fiems).

Over the years, it has carried out several actions and projects to promote the development of the industrial sector in MS, in addition to investments in the areas of education, health and occupational safety, as well as research and innovation. Sérgio Longen has been leading Fiems for 17 years, providing strong business leadership.

The parliamentarian pointed out the relevance of Sérgio Longen in the state and the reason for having been designated as consul: “Enthusiast of commercial partnerships between Mato Grosso do Sul and Japan, in a recent event held at the Casa da Indústria, he was designated by the ambassador of Japan in Brazil, Teiji Hayashi, as honorary consul, a distinction that recognizes the value and greatness of his professional career”.

“Sérgio has always stood out for the efforts undertaken and results achieved, due to the respect gained from Mato Grosso do Sul society and the contributions made in favor of social well-being and the continuous development of education and innovation”, concluded Hashioka.

The motion was signed together with state deputy Paulo Correa, first secretary of Alems.
