Carpini carries out simulations and SPFC prepares for its debut in the Libertadores

This Wednesday, at CT da Barra Funda, the São Paulo squad continued its preparation for its debut in the Copa Libertadores. Tricolor debuts in the competition next Thursday (04), against Talleres, at 9 pm (Brasília time), at the Mario Alberto Kempes Stadium, in Córdoba. This Wednesday’s training session at CT da Barra Funda saw the return of two important players to São Paulo. Defender Arboleda (Ecuador) and midfielder Bobadilla (Paraguay), who were working for their respective teams, completed full training with the group. The other four players who were called up for this date’s FIFA friendlies (midfielder Pablo Maia, goalkeeper Rafael, defender Ferraresi and midfielder James Rodríguez) have not yet returned to Brazil. The quartet, however, will perform again in São Paulo this week. This Wednesday morning’s activities began under the command of physical preparation, who guided power work in the internal area of ​​the CT. Then, the players headed to the pitch for ball training. On the field, coach Thiago Carpini began organizing a technical activity, exchanging passes in a short space. Afterwards, he proposed an exercise in confrontations with offensive superiority, focused on building plays and crossings, as well as defensive balance. To conclude this Wednesday’s training session, the Tricolor commander also structured simultaneous work on defensive balance and offensive transition, simulating game situations. Aiming for their debut in the Libertadores, the São Paulo squad returns to training this Thursday, at CT da Barra Funda, in the morning. The team is in Group B of the tournament and, in addition to Talleres, they will also face Barcelona de Guayaquil-EQU and Cobresal-CHI for a place in the knockout stages.
