The councilors of Porto Walter, a city located in the interior of Acre, will receive monthly food assistance. This is what Law No. 028/24 published in today’s edition (27) of the Official State Gazette (DOE) provides. The document is signed by the president of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, Robson Rodrigues and by the city mayor, Sebastião Nogueira.
“The Legislative Branch, via its President, is hereby authorized to grant food assistance to councillors, permanent and commissioned employees of the Legislative Branch of the Municipality of Porto Walter, state of Acre”, says one of the articles of the Law.
According to the device approved by the councilors themselves, parliamentarians and civil servants who “are in the effective exercise of their mandate and public supervisory or legislative activities for the position paid on their respective Legislative payrolls will be entitled to the aid, regardless of the working day” .
The food allowance is intended to subsidize food expenses for councilors and civil servants, with the amount being added to the payroll for the corresponding month. “The food allowance has a compensatory nature, not being incorporated, under any circumstances, into your monthly remuneration, nor for retirement or pension purposes, being characterized as non-taxable income, without the incidence of social security contributions and Withheld Income Tax at Source (IRRF). no discount is applied to it”, explains another article.
According to the table, an amount of R$ 300.00 will be deposited for councilors; Permanent and commissioned employees the amount of R$ 230.00; and finally, Parliamentary Advisors will receive R$ 100.00 in assistance. The value will be adjusted annually, in accordance with the National Consumer Price Index (INPC), on the same date on which the annual general review of salaries and wages of the City Council takes place, and, in the absence of this, by another related index.
