The Secretary of State for Women, Márdhia El-Shawwa Pereira, reiterated the importance of the department being present in all regions of the state. “This action in Alto Acre concluded the activities related to Women’s Month, and this walk took place in both Rio Branco and Cruzeiro do Sul, as we carry out coordinated work with the Specialized Women’s Service Centers (Ceams). Popular participation was extremely important to get the message across regarding women’s rights, reinforcing our government’s commitment to all women.”

One of the students who participated in the event was Camila Aguiar, who reiterated the importance of the action. “Women have the right to be respected, to know about the different types of abuse. I know there are people who think women should only work in domestic services, but I think every profession is beautiful,” she added, highlighting one profession in particular: “I think it’s beautiful to see a female police officer. This shows that we can be everywhere.”

This is not just a matter for March, but to be carried out throughout the year”, concluded Warrant Officer Francineide Brito.
