On the run for drug trafficking, a criminal known as ‘Pica-Pau’ is arrested in the North Zone | Rio de Janeiro

Rio – The Military Police arrested, this Tuesday (26), in Del Castilho, North Zone of Rio, a woman accused of drug trafficking who was on the run from justice. Selma Pimenta David, 58 years old, also known as “Pica-Pau”, has three notes for the same crime.

Selma was arrested in May 2022, in the Gericinó Complex, in Bangu, in the West Zone, when she tried to enter with a plastic package containing 124g of marijuana. With the help of a Habeas Corpus, she was released from prison in January 2023.

However, in July of the same year, the 1st Criminal Court of Bangu issued an arrest warrant against “Pica-Pau”, for the crime of drug trafficking.

A fugitive, Selma was detained on Avenida Pastor Martin Luther King in a joint action by the Undersecretariat of Intelligence of the Rio Military Police (SSI) with the Jacarezinho Pacifying Police Unit (UPP) and the Pacifying Police Coordination (CPP), following information passed through the Hotline.

Upon execution of the arrest warrant, she was taken to the 25th DP (Engenho Novo), where she will be detained until she is taken to the prison system.
