Five people were arrested on suspicion of transporting and selling drugs in the interior of Mato Grosso. The Civil Police’s Operation Baca was launched this Wednesday morning (27), and four other search and seizure warrants were executed in Cuiabá and Cáceres, 220 km from the capital.
According to the police, three court orders were also issued to block bank accounts.
The investigations began in December 2022, when a woman was taken to the Cuiabá Flagrant Center, with drugs. She was interviewed and released due to lack of information for the charge.
A year later, the suspect was arrested again. During the investigation, the police discovered the participation of others involved in sending drugs to the interior of the state, led by one of the targets who is imprisoned at the Central State Penitentiary (PCE).
Baca means “cry, tear” and is a reference to a suspect who actively participates in the group and during her arrest tried to move the team.
