1st Forum of the Network of Historical and Geographical Institutes of Minas Gerais, “Rotas das Gerais”, an event designed to disseminate knowledge and research on the history and geography of the state of Minas Gerais.

The Forum will be held at the Espaço Cultural da Pilgrimage, located next to the Sanctuary of Senhor Bom Jesus de Matosinhos, at Alameda Cidade de Matozinhos, 153, – Basílica – Congonhas, MG.

“Rota das Gerais”, was the theme chosen with the aim of forming a mosaic of the old routes of the Captaincy of Minas Gerais, be they paths, roads, trails, connections, expeditions or trips, which crossed the territory of Minas Gerais and led to other territories, These are fundamental to outline the understanding of the development history of Minas Gerais and its locations.

The initiative and organization of the event is by the Historical and Geographical Institutes of “Congonhas” and the “Historical Region of Guarapiranga, Borda do Campo and Pomba”, with the support of IHG of “Ritápolis”.

The event program, starting at 9 am, will include a reception with breakfast, presentation of work in mini lectures of 20 minutes each, official creation of the IHGs/MG NETWORK, visit to the cultural heritage of the city of Congonhas and closing with a viewing of the routes that border the municipality of Congonhas.

Mark your calendars: April 20, 2024 – it will be a Saturday full of learning and exchanging experiences. Activities will take place from 9am to 6pm, guaranteeing a full day of immersion in this fascinating universe.

– From 12pm to 1pm – Lunch break
– From 1pm to 4pm – Presentations
– From 4pm to 5pm – creation of the official IHG Network – MG
– From 5pm to 6pm – Guided visit to the UNESCO cultural heritage site in Congonhas
