According to the Specialized Policing Command (CPE), the action aims to combat the use of alcoholic beverages, among others.

This Wednesday (27), Megaoperation Semana Santa 2024 begins, which will be implemented by the Minas Gerais Military Highway Police. The special scheme continues until Wednesday (31), on all state highways in Minas Gerais.

According to the Corporation, the operations will be launched by the Military Highway Police (PMRv) and the Military Environmental Police (PMMA), in more than 200 points throughout the State, in the approximately 30 thousand kilometers of the Minas Gerais network, during 24 hours of the day. day, in partnership with other bodies, such as DER, SEMAD, IEF, DNIT and others.

Also according to the PMRv, more than 2,000 police officers will be in operation, focusing on combating drug use and trafficking, homicides, fugitives from justice, as well as monitoring drivers who use alcohol and combating environmental crimes, with use of breathalyzers, radars and drones, presence in strategic locations and systematic approaches.

Furthermore, there will be blitz preventive measures, with prevention tips, especially due to the increased flow of vehicles and people on the highways during the Holy Week holiday.
