Rio – The Special Police Operations Battalion (BOPE) will be coordinated by Colonel Aristheu de Góes Lopes. He replaces Colonel Uirá do Nascimento Ferreira, who assumes the Undersecretary of Intelligence of the Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro. The information was confirmed by the agent himself. The change of command will take place this Monday (29), at 4pm, at the battalion headquarters.

Aristheu commanded the 12th BPM (Niterói), which passed to Colonel Leonardo Ribeiro de Oliveira. The change of command takes place at the battalion itself, on Tuesday (30), at 10 am.
Leonardo was commander of the 25°B PM (Cabo Frio), which will now be taken over by Colonel Andreia Ferreira da Silva Campos. She coordinated the corporation’s Prison Unit. Now, Colonel Luis Carlos Silva Júnior will head the UP command.
The changes were published in the corporation’s internal bulletin, released on Friday night (26).
