One is just 17 years old, the other is even younger, 16. They are still teenagers, but they are already shining for their clubs and are seen as possible stars of the future in their national teams. The friendly between Brazil and Spain this Tuesday, in Madrid, could mark the first duel between Endrick and Lamine Yamal.
Brazil faces Spain tomorrow at striker Endrick’s future home
None of them have yet reached the status of starters for their national teams, but they are already certain names in squads and, so far, they have lived up to expectations.
In a few months, the Endrick x Lamine Yamal duel could be recurring in Spain, when the two will be defending the two strongest football shirts in the country. Lamine is already a reality at Barcelona, and Endrick has a contract signed with Real Madrid and is expected to play after turning 18, in July this year.
Endrick, a year older, also has more achievements with Palmeiras: two Brasileiros 2022 and 2023, a Brazilian Super Cup (2023) and a Paulista (2023). The striker born in Brasília debuted at Palmeiras in October 2022, becoming, at 16 years and 77 days, the youngest to play for the professional team.
The striker from Palmeiras debuted in November last year for the Seleção, and scored his first goal in the 1-0 victory over England, last Saturday, his third match for Brazil. Endrick is the fourth youngest to score for Brazil (behind Pelé, Edu and Ronaldo), aged 17 years and 246 days, and the youngest in men’s football to score goals at the mythical Wembley stadium.
