The president of ACIC, José Carlos Tombini was in Florianópolis on March 20, where he participated in a meeting with the Secretary of State for Ports, Airports and Railways, Beto Martins. Along with presidents of other associations, José Tombini received an invitation from the Secretary to participate in a meeting with Azul Linhas Aéreas to discuss airport marketing issues.

The meeting was attended by representatives from Facisc and business associations from Jaguaruna, Criciúma, Caçador, Rio Negrinho, Canoinhas, Lages, Correia Pinto, Joaçaba, Dionísio Cerqueira.

The president of Acic de Caçador, José Tombini, said that the Midwest region is being penalized for the lack of an airport. “We have difficulties in bringing professionals in different areas due to the logistical difficulties in accessing the region”. He highlighted that the region needs to be viable for growth.

Secretary Beto Martins reported that he is in contact with the company Azul Linhas Aéreas to bring flights to the airport, with a network study and even a change in legislation.

Saulo Sperotto, businessman and former mayor, highlighted that there is different legislation today that will allow the cargo airport to be transformed. “To develop the region we need investments and the airport is one of these priority investments”. The mayor of Caçador, Alencar Mendes, said he is ready to receive flights to restart air transport.
