Ozempic, which began to be used by many Brazilians for weight loss, especially among celebrities, is accelerating facial aging.

Ozempic is the commercial name of a medicine called semaglutide, used to treat type 2 diabetes. To Portal SCC10, Dr. Juliana Sandin, a dermatologist, explained that, “Nowadays, it has become known worldwide for losing weight, but there is a lot of incorrect use, without medical supervision”.

“This weight loss is very fast and, as the patient loses weight quickly in a short time, they lose a lot of fat, muscle, vitamins and nutrients. As a result, there is very marked aging.”he concluded.

According to Dr. Juliana Sandin, Ozempic is accelerating by almost five years corresponding to the patient’s biological age. “The quality of the skin is not good, it becomes dry“, he said.
