Fábio Costa Júnior, pharmacist and coordinator of the pharmaceutical working group of the Brazilian Association of Cannabis Industries (ABICANN), explains that no product has, to date, demonstrated safety and efficacy for nasal use.

“The fact that there is an illegal trade in cannabis-based products or with cannabis assets constitutes a sanitary and criminal offense, because these products do not have proof of quality and certification of origin of the raw material”, he details.

The pharmacist differentiates between the two forms of oil that can be made from marijuana:

In the pharmaceutical industry, it works as an analgesic, sedative and anticonvulsant in the treatment of diseases such as multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, schizophrenia and chronic pain.
