Certain foods are so rich in nutrients that they are known as “anti-aging”. They offer benefits against the aging of the organism in several areas, not only the skin, but also other organs and tissues.
These foods stand out for the high density of antioxidant compounds they contain. The aging process occurs due to cellular oxidation caused by free radicals. Antioxidants neutralize these radicals, thus delaying premature aging.
Consuming these foods throughout life contributes to health and disease prevention. However, after the age of 50, with hormonal changes and metabolic slowdown, the intake of these nutrients becomes essential for healthy aging.
Sleep plays a crucial role in physical and mental restoration. During sleep, brain activities are reorganized and the entire body prepares for a new day.

When incorporated regularly into the diet, these foods not only protect the body, but also help prevent inflammatory processes. It is important to highlight that foods considered “anti-aging” work best when integrated into a healthy eating plan and regular physical activity.
Furthermore, the habits of not smoking and avoiding alcohol consumption also have a significant impact on the effectiveness of these healthy foods. Since such habits can harm health, when combined with a healthy lifestyle, these foods help us age in the best possible way, through a natural physiological process, and not accelerated by toxic substances.

Given this, foods that can be good allies are:

Sources of vitamin A:

Carrots, mango, couscous, papaya, red guava and other orange foods and dark green vegetables. Rich in carotenoids, in addition to antioxidants, they also strengthen the immune system.

Vitamin E:

A powerful antioxidant, it helps protect cell membranes. It is present in foods that are sources of fat such as almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts, Brazil nuts, eggs and avocados.

Vitamin C:

This vitamin is an excellent ally of collagen production, but also protects against the harmful effects of sunlight. Vitamin C is widely present in citrus fruits such as lemon, acerola, pineapple, kiwi, cauliflower and others.

In addition to these nutrients, it is worth including foods that are sources of zinc, such as meat, peanuts, fish and seafood. Also selenium, present in nuts, especially Brazil nuts, eggs, fish and seafood and, finally, omega-3, present in fish such as salmon, tuna and sardines and grains such as linseed and chia.
