Animal welfare is one of the most influential debates in global agriculture. Due to its relevance in the poultry chain, the 24th South Brazil Poultry Symposium (SBSA) promotes the lecture “Implementation of animal welfare indicators as a poultry farming management tool”, on April 11th (Thursday), at 10:30 am, at the Plínio Arlindo de Nes Culture and Events Center, in Chapecó (SC) . The topic will be addressed by the zootechnician, specialist in Innovative Project Management from the University of São Paulo, Victor Abreu de Lima (photo at top).

Currently, specific metrics are found capable of evaluating the health, comfort and quality of life of animals. This management strategy allows producers to not only monitor and improve the living conditions of birds, but also ensure efficiency and sustainability in their poultry production.

Promoted by the Núcleo Oeste de Médicos Veterinarios e Zootecnistas (Nucleovet), the event will take place from April 9th to 11th, in Chapecó (SC). SBSA is a reference in the dissemination of knowledge, technological innovation and the exchange of experiences.

Registration for the Symposium and the 15th Poultry Fair are in the last batch. The investment is R$850.00 for professionals and R$480.00 for students. Tickets to access only the fair, without participating in the scientific program, can be purchased for R$200.00. When purchasing packages of ten or more registrations for the SBSA, bonuses will be granted. Nucleovet members, agribusiness professionals, public bodies and university groups have different conditions.

The 24th SBSA is supported by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), the Regional Council of Veterinary Medicine of Santa Catarina (CRMV-SC), the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), the Chapecó City Hall and the Santa Catarina Society of Medicine Veterinary (Somevesc).
