Santa Rosa confirms fourth death from dengue

The RS Health Department confirmed this Wednesday morning (April 3), that Santa Rosa recorded the 4th death from dengue. It is a 23 year old womanwith pre-existing illnesses, who died on March 19th.

Santa Rosa has so far recorded 5,106 confirmed cases of the disease and 935 notifications. The municipality has already had 6,370 notifications, of which 335 were negative. The municipality currently has the highest number of cases in RS.

On Thursday (28/03), Mayor Anderson Mantei signed a decree that declares Santa Rosa in an emergency situation due to dengue, for the next 45 days, with the possibility of extension. On the same day, another place to treat these cases was also announced, together with Hospital Vida & Saúde: the Dom Bosco Unit Outpatient Clinic. The service is available 24 hours a day.

At the weekend again, some Basic Health Units were open in the morning, from 7:30 am to 11:30 am. The UBSs: Agrícola and Pereira operated on Saturday with extended hours for monitoring, hydration with serum and consultations for patients being monitored. Furthermore, endemic disease agents carried out prevention actions, applying insecticides in public places and in neighborhoods with a high rate of infestation.
