A rare edition of the magazine Playboy with a rehearsal by actress Cleo Pires was sold for almost R$30 thousand in an auction promoted by an online used bookstore of publications of this type. She posed for the magazine in August 2010, in celebration of the brand’s 35th anniversary in Brazil.
According to Lucas Hit, specialist in ‘men’s magazines’ and creator of Sebo do Hit, this edition had three covers: a ‘traditional’ one for sale on newsstands, a special one with a limited edition, and another even more exclusive one, which was distributed among collaborators and there were only 100 copies — one of which was sold at this auction.
“This rare edition has a gold logo, is numbered and has a hard cover. This is the rarest item among magazine collectors. Playboy in Brazil”, published Lucas Hit, on Instagram, this Tuesday, 3.
According to him, at the time, the very rare edition was given as a gift from Playboy to professionals from the Abril publishing team and other collaborators who worked on the production of the commemorative edition.
This was the second ‘super special’ magazine that passed through his hands. The first, a few years ago, was sold for R$5,000. Now, this time, the copy was purchased for R$ 26.7 thousand. The expert dares to say that it was one of the most expensive sales of magazines of this type in Brazil.
