Kate Middleton revealed to the world that she has cancer just over a week ago and, now, several behind-the-scenes stories about the announcement have been circulating in the British tabloids. According to the Sunday Times, the Princess of Wales went against a suggestion from the Royal Family to communicate the news.
According to the Sunday Times, Kensington Palace wanted Kate to issue just a written statement to reveal her cancer, just as King Charles III, who has the same disease, did in February. However, the Princess made a point of showing her face. Furthermore, it was she herself who wrote the entire message said in the video.
“The decision was entirely Kate’s. The Princess of Wales wanted to make the video. Kate and William decided to make the statement public after speaking to the children [os filhos George, Charlotte e Louis]so they would have time to digest this as a family first,” a source told the tabloid.

Kate did not choose March 22, 2024, to reveal her cancer to the world for nothing.
