INSS starts paying 13th advance to those who earn above the minimum

-

Retirees and pensioners of the National Social Security Institute (INSS) who earn more than one minimum wage begin receiving this Thursday (2) the advance of the thirteenth. Payment goes until the 8th, with the dates defined according to the final digit of the Social Registration Number (NIS).ebc.gif?quality=70&strip=all&ssl=1

The payment of the thirteenth to those who earn a minimum wage began on the 24th and will also continue until the 8th. By the middle of next week, more than 33.6 million insured people will receive the first installment, considering those who earn the minimum benefit and those who receive above it.

The statement with the thirteenth payment amounts and dates can be consulted in the Meu INSS application, available for cell phones and tablets. The query can also be made via site gov.br/meuinss.

Anyone who does not have access to the internet can check the thirteenth release by calling 135. Telephone support is available from Monday to Saturday, from 7am to 10pm.

The decree anticipating the thirteenth was signed in March. This will be the fifth year in a row that INSS policyholders will receive the thirteenth before the traditional dates, in August and December. In 2020 and 2021, payment occurred earlier due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2022 and 2023, the installments were paid in May and June.

According to the Ministry of Social Security, the thirteenth payment will anticipate the injection of R$67.6 billion into the economy. Of this total, R$33.68 billion corresponds to the first installment, referring to the April period and which will be paid between the end of April and the beginning of May. The remainder corresponds to the second installment, for May, to be paid at the end of May and beginning of June.

Most retirees and pensioners will receive 50% of the thirteenth in the first installment. The exception is for those who started receiving the benefit after January and will have the amount calculated proportionally.

The Ministry of Social Security clarifies that insured people who receive benefits due to temporary incapacity (formerly sickness benefit) are also entitled to a smaller portion of the thirteenth, calculated according to the duration of the benefit. By law, policyholders who receive assistance benefits, such as Bolsa Família, are not entitled to a thirteenth salary.
