Remember the trajectory of Santos

Santos is the son of Brazilian parents and lived in Rio de Janeiro before entering politics in the United States. He was expelled from the US Congress following accusations that include fraud related to Covid-19 unemployment benefits, misuse of campaign funds and lying about his personal finances. During his time on Capitol Hill, controversies arose over lies on his resume and biography.

Despite not having yet been convicted of any crime, Santos maintains the rights of a former member of the Chamber, which allows him to access Congress and use its facilities, except to participate in votes and plenary decisions.

He reacted to his expulsion from Congress by calling it “end“ and criticized the Chamber for establishing a “dangerous precedent“. In March, Santos announced his intention to run again for Congress, but a month later he withdrew from the candidacy so as not to share votes with the Republican candidate. Nick LaLotafearful of handing the seat to Democrats.

Former deputy profits from videos on demand

Santos became an on-demand video producer on the Cameo network, where he can be called upon to make short recordings with scripts suggested by paying people, and has already earned more than a deputy’s annual salary. The prices for the videos already exceed R$2,000.

According to Semafor, the politician has already earned more in the first 48 hours from video sales than his deputy’s annual salary of US$174,000.

A young leftist went viral when he paid the former deputy to sing his favorite song from Taylor Swift. “‘I knew you were trouble when you walked in the door’ – that’s me,” sang. The former deputy, in turn, seems not to care about the content of the videos. On his profile, he describes himself as “former Congress icon“, and both on Cameo and on X (formerly Twitter), he has been making fun of the very lies he told about his biography.
