Vaccination campaign against dengue, Covid-19, Influenza and routine doses continues this Monday

With the arrival of April, the city of João Pessoa is intensifying efforts to ensure that the population has access to essential vaccines, including those that are part of the National Immunization Calendar. The call is explicit: it is time to update the vaccination record to protect individual and collective health.

One of the focuses of the vaccination campaign is immunization against Influenza, a serious respiratory disease that can lead to severe complications, especially in risk groups. Currently the priority groups covered by the campaign are: Children aged 6 months to under 6 years of age (5 years, 11 months and 29 days), health workers, pregnant women, postpartum women (those women who are in the period of up to 45 days after childbirth), primary and higher education teachers, indigenous peoples, elderly people aged 60 or over, homeless people, professionals from the security and rescue forces, professionals from the Armed Forces and people with chronic non-communicable diseases and others special clinical conditions, people with permanent disabilities, public road transport workers for urban and long-distance passengers, port workers, population deprived of liberty and employees of the deprivation of liberty system, adolescents and young people aged 12 to 21 years under measures socio-educational.

Furthermore, the call is specifically aimed at children and adolescents aged 10 to 14 years, who have not yet received two doses of the Qdenga vaccine against Dengue. Vaccination is essential to protect this age group against the risks associated with the disease, and it is essential to follow the recommended vaccination schedule to ensure effective protection. Remembering that, if the user has contact with the disease before the vaccine, it is recommended to wait six months before starting the vaccination schedule with the dengue vaccine (attenuated). If the infection occurs after the start of the regimen, there is no change in the interval between D1 and D2, as long as D2 is not performed less than 30 days after the onset of the disease.

Covid-19 continues to be a threat to public health, especially for unvaccinated people. For this reason, the Ministry of Health recommends taking advantage of the opportunity of the influenza vaccination campaign to update the vaccination status for Covid-19 in eligible groups .

Doses are available in the city’s vaccination rooms, in addition to three mobile points strategically positioned to guarantee access even for those who have difficulty traveling during the week.

Documentation – For vaccination against dengue, the user simply needs to bring the Vaccination Booklet and an official document. For Influenza it is necessary to bring, in addition to the vaccination card, supporting documents for each group. Professionals who fall within the expansion of priority groups must present an identification document with a photo and proof (declaration, class council card or paycheck) of their connection with the company or institution where they work. People with chronic non-communicable diseases and other special clinical conditions must present a medical report.

Home Vaccination – For people who are bedridden and restricted to bed. It is necessary to make an appointment by calling (83) 98645-7727. Vaccines are available at homes, from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm.
