Emma Stone is not actually called Emma Stone — and the two-time Oscar-winning actress acknowledged that she would like to use her real name again: Emily.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Emma Stone acknowledged that she continues to use her real name with those around her. “When I meet them, the people I work with call me Emily,” she says. The actress also revealed that if a fan addresses her as Emily, she won’t correct them: “That would be great. I’d like to be Emily.”
Emma Stone had to change her stage name due to a rule by SAG-AFTRA, the Hollywood actors union. To be part of the organization, you cannot call yourself the same name as another existing member. The actress, therefore, opted for Emma because Emma Lee Bunton is her favorite Spice Girl.

Another actor who had to change his name for the same reason as Emma Stone is Michael Keaton. The star, who brought Bruce Wayne to life in Tim Burton’s Batman saga, is called Michael Douglas, as is the person responsible for bringing Hank Pym to life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
