Rapper Kanye West is involved in yet another controversy. This time, he is accused of threatening to arrest and shave the heads of students at Donda Academy, a private Christian school founded by him in 2022.
The allegations were made by Trevor Phillips, a former employee of Yeezy, West’s clothing brand, who also worked at the musician’s other companies. In the lawsuit obtained by Page Six, Phillips claims he suffered “severe discrimination, abuse and retaliation.”
According to Phillips, West “proudly” uttered anti-Semitic theories in front of children. The rapper reportedly told two students that he “wanted to shave their heads” and that he “intended to put them in jail at school.”
The former employee also reported other problematic behavior by Kanye, such as at a dinner in December 2022. After Donda Academy was closed due to Ye’s anti-Semitic statements, he allegedly offended Jews, calling them “miserable”, praised Adolf Hitler and denied the existence of the Holocaust.
The LGBTQ+ community would also have been targeted by Kanye. “Yes, I’m going to attack the gays! First the Jews, then the gays!” he reportedly said, according to Trevor’s account.
Phillips was fired in May 2023. He expects to receive compensation of US$35,000 (about R$177,000) and is fighting for West to be banned from opening any type of school for children under 18 in California.
Kanye West has not yet commented on the accusations.
