Isabel Fillardis, known for her work as an actress, recalled the diagnosis of malignant tongue cancer, received about ten years ago. Also dedicating herself to music, the artist revealed that she felt afraid of not being able to speak normally after the end of the treatment.

In an interview with O Globo, she revealed how she dealt with the diagnosis and treatment. “I was scared, because the cancer was malignant, but I was lucky to have discovered it early in the process. I ended up having two surgeries and was left without the left part of my tongue”, reported Isabel.

“I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to speak normally, but thank God everything worked out. I needed robust speech therapy work”, added the artist. This year, the 50-year-old actress plans to release an autobiography, which she has already started writing.

Isabel’s last work on TV came in “Amor Perfeito”, a 6pm soap opera on Globo, in 2013; and in a participation at the end of “Fuzuê”, from the 7pm track, this year. Now, the artist who previously participated in the group “As Sublimes” in the 1990s is resuming her singing career as a soloist.
