One of the biggest fashion icons of recent years, Zendaya was chosen to be one of the hosts of this year’s Met Gala, which takes place next Monday, May 6th. This will be the sixth time that the actress participates in the event — her first appearance on the red carpet was in 2015. In addition to the looks, which she chooses in partnership with her friend and stylist Law Roach, Zendaya also takes care of her beauty. In 2018, for example, she appeared with short, red hair in one of the most emblematic productions at the ball, inspired by Joan of Arc.

The theme for 2024 is “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”, which promises to rescue some of the oldest pieces from the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s collection. The dresscode this time is “The Garden of Time”, a reference to the short story of the same name published by British writer JG Ballard in 1962. While we wait for another incredible look from Zendaya, let’s look back at her best beauty looks from the past few issues.

2015

The 2015 edition marked Zendaya’s debut on the museum’s red carpet. That year, the ball’s theme was “China: Through The Looking Glass”, and the actress chose neutral makeup with a matte finish to match the look designed by Fausto Puglisi. The highlight was the hairstyle, with very long strands adorned by a tiara.

2016

The following year, with the theme “Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology”, the institution promoted a dialogue between fashion and technology. In a match with the Michael Kors dress, Zendaya opted for shades of brown in her makeup. Her hair got a mushroom cut, which, in fact, returned to the trend list.

2017

In 2017, the Met Gala honored Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo, with the theme “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art Of The In-Between.” On this occasion, Zendaya opted for strands with extra volume, forming a powerful afro. In makeup, red lips and flawless skin completed the look.

2018

The 2018 edition had the theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination”, establishing connections between fashion and religion. In a manifesto look, designed by Versace, Zendaya was inspired by the armor of French warrior Joan of Arc. For beauty, quite a transformation: she appeared with red hair, short and well layered.

2019

Zendaya’s last appearance at the event was in 2019, when she dressed as Cinderella for the “Camp: Notes on Fashion” edition. Ultra-romantic, the look included blue eyeshadow, very rosy cheeks and a classic banana bun.
