Kristen Stewart reveals controversial opinion about Edward and Bella’s relationship in “Twilight”

Bella Swan may have been “unconditionally and irrevocably in love” with Edward Cullen, but if Kristen Stewart had been in her place, the actress would have kicked the vampire to the sidelines. The star of the “Twilight” saga analyzed the protagonists’ relationship during an appearance on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast this Tuesday (26), and gave his honest opinion about the character played by Robert Pattinson.

In the chat with presenter Amanda Hirsch, Kristen confessed to feeling great affection for the girl and even defended Bella when the host joked that she “didn’t like her”. “Don’t we like her? Wow. Hey, you better be careful. I don’t know if you know who you’re talking to right now.”he joked.

Hirsch then explained that Bella seemed desperate for the vampire. Even so, the actress reinforced: “He was trying to control whether or not she made choices for herself. I would have broken up with him immediately.”.

Then, she recalled that, at the beginning of the saga, Edward did not want to transform Bella into a member of the Cullens. “I mean, if I said, ‘Hey, I want to try this,’ and he said, ‘No, this is just for me,’ I would say, ‘Well, this is just for me, too. Kristen played Bella Swan in five “Twilight” films that collectively grossed $3.3 billion worldwide. During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Stewart recalled how she was criticized for her performance in the films. She emphasized that she kept her portrayal of Bella true to the book series even though some executives wanted the character to be more light-hearted. “The studio was trying to make a movie for kids. They didn’t want what the book really was. When the hell [Bella e Edward] Are they ever smiling?”he complained.

The actress also commented on the saga in a conversation with Variety in January, and declared that she noticed significant details in the story years after recording. “I can only see it now”said Stewart. “It’s such a gay film. I mean, Jesus Christ, Taylor [Lautner], Rob and I, and this is so hidden and not right. I mean, a Mormon woman wrote this book. It’s all about oppression, about wanting what will destroy you. This is a very goth and gay slant that I love.”concluded.
