Ambev will suspend beer production at a factory in RS

Ambev made a decision regarding its factory in Viamãoin the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre: temporarily suspend beer production to bottle drinking water and donate it to the inhabitants of the Rio Grande do Sul. The announcement was made this Tuesday, 7.

The company’s president, Jean Jereissati, highlighted the need to help the population of Rio Grande do Sul at this time. With the stoppage of beer production in Viamão, Ambev intends to manufacture around 850 thousand 473 ml cans of water per day. The action will take place with machinery brought from São Paulo to adapt the production line.

In partnership with the company Ball, specialized in the manufacture of aluminum cans, Ambev will begin distribution from this Wednesday, 8th.

In recent days, the company has already donated water to Rio Grande do Sul. More than 560 thousand liters were donated, 185 thousand of which were destined for 11 municipalities affected by the rains. Another 375 thousand liters were sent in water trucks to supply hospitals in Greater Porto Alegre.

Ambev suspends beer production in solidarity action

In addition to stopping local beer production to invest in donating water, Ambev is committed to finding other ways to help the population of Rio Grande do Sul. Without giving details, the company states that it will plan other actions aimed at Rio Grande do Sul.
