The company says it had to take some machinery from São Paulo to make the adaptation of its factory possible. “As a Brazilian company, we are and will always be at the side of Brazilians in all situations”, stated Jean Jereissati, president of the company. Ambev says it has already donated more than 560 thousand liters of water to the state – 185 thousand liters for the population of 11 affected municipalities and 375 thousand in water trucks to meet the water needs of hospitals in greater Porto Alegre.

The lack of drinking water in Porto Alegre, due to the floods that hit the state, brought crowds to the markets. Of the six water treatment plants of the Municipal Department of Water and Sewage in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, four have their operations suspended.
