“4 – 8 – 15 – 16 – 23 – 42”. Fans of “Lost” are well aware of this sequence, which appears at various points in the TV series that aired between 2004 and 2010. Five of these numbers appeared on Mega-Sena contest 2,720who drew 08 – 15 – 16 – 23 – 42 – 43.

In the series, after becoming a millionaire in the lottery by playing these numbers, the character Hugo Hurley (Jorge Garcia) became unlucky and tragedies began to happen around him. The story was told in the 18th episode of the first season, called “Numbers”.

In this Saturday’s Mega-Sena draw, the big bad luck was that no one took the main prizewhich totaled R$37 million.

Although, 2,967 bets matched 5 numbers and won R$ 1,878.49 each, and other 6,884 bets matched 4 numbers and take home R$809.63.

Although the five numbers came out in the same sequence, it is impossible to know how many people were awarded them and how many included the other in their combinations.

It’s not the first time that “Lost” numbers have come out in lotteries: in 2011, four of them came out in a federal lottery in the United States and, in 2013, in another state one, in Florida.
