New Nissan Kicks is bigger than Creta and HR-V and will have a turbo engine

-

Not long ago, the J.C. showed the announcement of the new Nissan Kicks, the brand’s compact SUV, whose design has been completely renewed. With a more elegant and robust appearance, the proposal is to reposition the model in the market, targeting a more expensive niche, different from that of the model on sale today. Now, the fight is with SUVs higher up in the table.

And what models would those be? In the Brazilian context, we can mention names like the Hyundai Creta and Honda HR-V, for example. It’s the same move made by the brand when announcing the new generation of the Versa sedan: the SUV gains a new platform, becoming more expensive. Thus, the current model will coexist with the new version, and now compete with smaller models, such as the Renault Kardian, for example.

However, the main change in the compact SUV is the adoption of the CMF-B platform, a modular base that is more modern than the current structure. Just because of this update, it is already possible to say that the new Kicks has changed a lot, something positive, as it gives it the chance to keep up with the competition in various markets around the world.

Thinking about Brazil, models like the Honda HR-V and Hyundai Creta also grew when changing generations, for example. The models measure the same 4.30 meters in length, 1.79 m in height and 2.61 m in wheelbase, differing only in height. The Creta measures 1.63 m, and the HR-V 1.59 m. Furthermore, compared to the old, the new Kicks it grew in all dimensions, even more than the aforementioned rivals: 4.31 m in length, 2.61 m in wheelbase, 1.76 m in width and 1.59 m in height.

Furthermore, the dimensions can also cover medium models, such as the Jeep Compass, mainly in the American market, for example. Proof of this is the addition of a 2.0 engine and all-wheel drive there. Here, the set will probably have the new 1.0 turbo from Renault, the brand’s partner, with some changes and manufactured in Resende (RJ). Finally, with a more modern and technological construction, it will be produced in this same factory, launching in 2025.
