Xiaomi launched this Thursday (28) the SU7, first electric car manufactured by the technology giant that can travel up to 830 km on just one charge. Announced in December last year, the model is available in China from now on.

Marking Xiaomi’s entry into the automotive market, the Speed ​​Ultra 7 is a sports sedan developed to compete with Tesla cars, in addition to rivaling electrically powered models from Porsche, BMW and Volvo. He will be sold in three versions: standard SU7, SU7 Pro and SU7 Max.

The standard model has a range of 700 km, the intermediate (Pro) runs 830 km on a charge and the most advanced (Max) reaches 800 km, according to the manufacturer. They are equipped with the HyperEngine engine and powered by 73.6 kWh, 94.3 kWh and 101 kWh batteries, respectively, with a maximum speed of 265 km/h.

The technology also appears prominently in Xiaomi’s electric car, which comes with 11 cameras, 15 radars and laser for autonomous driving, driver assistance systems and screens that transform into tablets. The sedan’s operating system is the same HyperOS as the brand’s cell phones.

How much does the Xiaomi SU7 cost?

During the event, the CEO of big tech, Lei Jun, released the prices of the SU7, reporting values ​​below the range revealed by him on Monday (25). The car will cost 216,000 yuan for the standard version, 245,900 yuan for the Pro and 299.00 yuan for the Maxvalues ​​equivalent to R$148,000, R$169,000 and R$206,000, respectively, at the exchange rate of the day.

The electric sedan has nine color options, including blue, green, gray and lilac, and the first units will be delivered in April. As the company intends to become one of the five largest automakers in the world in the next 15 to 20 years, it is expected to launch in other markets, but without any confirmation at the moment.

Questioned by TecMundo about the possibility of selling the car on the national market, Xiaomi said that for now there is no forecast for the launch of the SU7 electric car in Brazil.
