Former porn actress, Stormy Daniels, speaks at Donald Trump’s trial in the USA

According to journalists who were in the courtroom, the dialogues between the lawyers and the porn actress were tense and, at times, aggressive.

One of the lawyers asked if the actress had experience with “fake stories about sex.” Daniels responded that the sex in the films is “very real”, as is what happened to her in the room she was with donald trump.

The chronology of events was as follows:

  • Trump and Daniels met in 2006when he was already married to Melania, and they had sexual intercourse one night in a hotel, according to her testimony.
  • Ten years later, in 2016, he was a presidential candidate for the Republican Party. He beat his opponent Hillary Clinton, from the Democratic Party, and was elected.
  • In the final stretch of the campaign, Daniels received a payment of US$130,000 to not give interviews about the relationship she had had with Trump ten years earlier. The payment was brokered by Trump’s lawyer at the time, Michael Cohen.
  • In 2018, when Trump was presidentDaniels started talking about the relationship and getting paid.
  • The New York prosecutor’s office, where the payment took place, began investigating the case and criminally prosecuted Trump for declaring the payment as Michael Cohen’s legal fees.
  • The trial, the first criminal case against a former US president, started in April this year.

The report about the sexual relationship is not central to the case — Trump is not accused of a crime of this nature, but rather of having committed an accounting fraud.

Trump denies having sexual relations with the porn actress.

The testimony began last Tuesday and was resumed and concluded this Thursday.

Donald Trump’s lawyer pressed porn star Stormy Daniels on Thursday about apparent inconsistencies in the various versions of the story.

In nearly four hours of questioning Tuesday and Thursday, defense attorney Susan Necheles questioned Daniels about her previous testimony about the alleged encounter compared to versions in a book she wrote and interviews she gave over the years.

On his first day of testimony, Daniels claimed that while he was with Trump in a hotel room, his bodyguard was outside. This, she said, made her uncomfortable.

Susan Necheles, one of Trump’s lawyers, questioned why Daniels didn’t mention the bodyguard story in an interview the actress gave to Vogue magazine in 2018. “You made all this up, right?” Necheles asked Daniels, in certain moment.

“No,” Daniels said emphatically, sitting with her hands clasped and her legs crossed. She stated that did not give all the details in each interview and did not control which parts of their reports were published by the outlets.

Daniels denied that he changed his story.

“You’re trying to get me to say it’s changed, but it hasn’t,” Daniels said.

Trump, wearing a light blue suit and tie, alternated between leaning forward to look at a small computer monitor on the defense table that displayed evidence and looking directly at Daniels as his lawyer questioned Daniels’ story.

Daniels’ story about the alleged encounter has been public knowledge since 2018 and may not matter much to voters who have heard other stories about Trump’s alleged sexual misconduct.

Just before ending her questioning, Necheles asked Daniels if she was aware of Trump’s business records — part of an attempt to paint her testimony as irrelevant to the allegations at hand.

“I don’t know anything about his business records, no, why would I?” Daniels said.
