Man wearing a Hamas shirt distributes leaflets during a House session

This Wednesday (24), a man dressed in a shirt from the terrorist group Hamas appeared during the broadcast of a public hearing at the Participatory Legislation Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, distributing leaflets among the participants of the session, which had as its theme the “crisis humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip”.

The graphic material was distributed at the beginning of the meeting, which had among the participants the Ambassador of Palestine, Ibrahim Mohamed Khalil Alzeben; journalist Breno Altman (who celebrated the bombing of Israel and has compared Jews to rats); and the president of the Palestinian Federation in Brazil (Fepal), Ualid Rabah.

Representatives from countries such as Belarus, Nicaragua, Cuba, Venezuela and Bolivia were also present.

A representative from the Ministry of Human Rights was also present at this Wednesday’s meeting. The Commission is chaired by deputy Glauber Braga (PSOL/RJ).

The hearing was held following requests from deputies Padre João (PT-MG) and João Daniel (PT-SE).

After the fact that a man dressed in a Hamas shirt was involved in the meeting, deputy Bia Kicis (PL-SP) went to the Chamber’s Tribune to ask that the incident be investigated by the House.

Also reacting to the case, the executive president of StandWithUs Brasil, the political scientist specializing in the Middle East and National Security, André Lajst, said that “demonstrations of support for Hamas are unacceptable and should be condemned by all those who really care about democracy.”
