‘ÉPra Cantar’: musical competition judges meet to define semi-finalists

The musical competition “ÉPra Cantar”, from EPTV, a TV Globo affiliate, which will reveal a pop rock talent, reached the semi-final stage. On Monday (6), an in-person jury at the station’s headquarters, in Campinas (SP), defined the 20 songs that will be submitted to public voting.

g1 followed the meeting and shows behind the scenes below. The names of the semi-finalists will be announced next week.

The in-person jury was made up of the jurors who pre-selected the songs. On Monday, the group, made up of singers, musicians, music producers and music teachers, listened to 44 songs and gave scores from 5 to 10 for three criteria: interpretation, technique and originality.

Then, the 20 semi-finalists, five from each region of the EPTV (Campinas, São Carlos, Ribeirão Preto and Sul de Minas), were defined.

When there was a tie or any difference in evaluation, the jurors talked among themselves.

“This is really good. Sharing, listening to the songs together. Unfortunately we came here to make a cut, but I wanted to tell you so you don’t give up, even if you’re not selected,” said Kiko Zambianchi, one of the biggest names in pop national rock, who is part of the jury and was present.

After the 20 songs selected, five from each EPTV region, four polls will be opened on the Tudo EP portal, which will define the four finalists – one per region. Then, the final vote, which will choose the big winner, will be carried out by g1.
