Record’s Sunday attraction, currently led by Sergio Aguiar and Carolina Ferraz, is about to receive the support of the investigative journalist who made history at Globo. The aim of Edir Macedo’s broadcaster is to bring the communicator’s sources and his style, so that they can increase the audience numbers for “Domingo Espetacular”. Currently, the attraction reaches an average audience rating of 8 to 9 points in Greater São Paulo, second only to Globo.

Valmir Salaro was a special reporter for “Fantástico” since 2000 and remained in the position until the end of last year. In September 2023, the professional’s departure from the broadcaster was announced. The journalist resigned, but would remain with the company until the end of the year. At the time, the Rio channel even stated that there was no internal problem that caused the end of the contract. In fact, Globo left the doors open for Salaro.
“Valmir Salaro and Globo mutually agreed that the professional will remain with the company until the end of this year. Globo’s doors are open to new Valmir projects in the future”, said the broadcaster’s communications team at that point. Valmir had a remarkable time at Globo, including a case negative.
The journalist became well known for the “Escola Base” case, in which the owners of the institution were accused in the police investigation of sexual abuse. After having their lives destroyed by public opinion and the media, it was proven that they were innocent. “The damage had been done.
