The second season of the series “Justiça” premiered this month and has already become one of Globoplay’s most talked about productions. This Wednesday (24), the author of the series, Manuela Dias, revealed that the plot this time was inspired by a real story. She said she wrote the script based on the experience of a manicurist she is close to.

“A manicurist I have lived with for many years lived in her building, in a community in Rio, and spent six months sleeping in very precarious conditions. She didn’t have the end of Geísa’s character, thankfully, but she had very serious problems, including psychiatric ones, because sleep deprivation is serious. She even had to move and lost her family’s property.”she said.

Manuela confirmed that other narratives in the series are also reflections of reality, even without being inspired by a specific story. One of them is that of the character Balthazar (Juan Paiva), who is arrested for a crime he did not commit. “A statistic came out that a large part of black prisoners, between 18 and 25 years old, are unfairly arrested based on facial recognition. Dramaturgy has the function of provoking”, she pointed out, alluding to the plot of Balthazar (Juan Paiva), who is arrested for a crime he did not commit.

The production stars Belize Pomba, interpreter of Geíza, a manicurist who struggles to live with dignity alongside her daughter in the community of Sol Nascente, in Ceilândia (DF). However, her life changes upside down with the arrival of a playboy who becomes a drug dealer in the favela. He starts to keep a speaker on at maximum volume, tormenting mother and daughter. After months, Geíza takes drastic action.

In addition to the life of the manicurist, “Justiça 2” brings three other stories to debate what justice is and what the role of justice is in such an unequal society. Every Thursday, since April 11, four new episodes are released for subscribers of the streaming platform. In total, there are 28 episodes.
