And what’s behind this? The company told Tiltin an exclusive conversation held last year, that different factors are taken into account in this process, such as:
- Provide support so that as many users as possible can have the best quality in terms of technology;
- Ensure the best experience for consumers using an iPhone;
- Maintain device update security.
In addition to the software aspect, the smartphone’s hardware components also enter the decision process, says Apple. This is because the operating system is like a brain, which makes everything work on the cell phone, but it depends on the new components integrated into the device.
The company did not go into details, but it is known that current processors, for example, can perform trillions of operations per second, a much higher volume than chips from five or ten years ago — in recent years, Apple’s processor has also gained integration with artificial intelligence to perform tasks faster and faster.
Batteries are also physical parts that get left behind over time. In the case of the iPhone, iOS is developed and optimized to consume less energy with each generation.
