Health Surveillance banned a very famous milk brand in Brazil
The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) has the function of promoting the health of the Brazilian population through health control. At the time, the agency ended up placing a ban on a brand of milk and decided to hastily withdraw the product from the markets.
Milk is a food rich in protein, calcium and magnesium, nutrients that provide several health benefits, such as preventing osteoporosis, among other issues. Exactly because of this, the news ended up generating great concern among consumers of the beloved product.
In June 2023, according to Veja magazine, Anvisa suspended the sale, distribution and use of several products under the Natville brand, from the company Laticínios Santa Maria Ltda, after finding a lack of hygiene conditions or quality control, in addition to not have authorization for production from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa).
The measure was published in a resolution in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU). “The product labels contain erroneous information that they were manufactured by a subsidiary of the company”, explains the municipality. Furthermore, the Public Ministry of Sergipe (MPSE) filed a petition.
In addition to the risk to public health, they claimed that it was clear that the industry had adulterated its products by making them available for human consumption with the appearance and characteristics of another product. According to Veja magazine, the suspension involved some important brand products.

Current situation:
It is worth remembering that the company mentioned in this publication complied with all Anvisa determinations and removed the products from circulation at the time of the notifications, that is, it corrected the problems. Currently, the products are sold normally.
