Launched in 2019 as one of Microsoft’s greatest titles of the last generation, it’s been five years since Gears of War 5 arrived on Xbox One and PC. Since then, the franchise has been talked about less and less, which has generated some discontent among some fans. But it looks like we’re very close to a potential sequel reveal.
Liam McIntyre, actor responsible for bringing to life the character JD Fenix, protagonist of the fourth game and fundamental supporting role in the fifth, recently suggested on his social networks that Gears of War 6 could be announced in summer — or Brazilian winter, which coincides with the event announcement window in the middle of the year.

Asked by a fan whether JD Fenix’s death is canon or not at the conclusion of the fifth game, as players can also choose to kill Delmont Walker in his place, McIntyre said nothing.
Although he didn’t give a specific answer, the Australian actor only stated that he “has no idea” — but suggested that The Coalition and Microsoft “will tell us everything in June”.

Other rumors about Gears of War 6 corroborate McIntyre’s claim
At the beginning of the month, the potential Gears of War 6 it also became a topic among industry insiders. Jeff Grubb, a credible journalist, stated on the podcast Kinda Funny Xbox that the sequel will likely be announced mid-year.
“I heard that some things can happen to Gears of War 6 in this summer [inverno brasileiro]”, said Grubb. Not long after, journalist Tom Warren, from The Vergespoke about his colleague’s statement on X (formerly Twitter), simply saying that it was “correct” information.

Remembering that none of the information above has been officially confirmed by Microsoft. However, considering that three sources of good credibility corroborate the same information, it is safe to bet on this supposed announcement of Gears of War 6.
