Google was recently in Game Developers Conference (GDC 2024), where he confirmed that the Play Points loyalty program, linked to Google Play Pass subscriptions, reached the mark of 220 million users. Furthermore, the company should bring the program to Brazil by the end of 2024.

Google Play Pass is exactly what you expect: for a subscription (monthly or annual), the user has access to the catalog of paid apps available on the Play Store at no cost and without displaying ads. Play Points is the program that offers points for various actions within your plan, which can be exchanged for microtransaction credits and other benefits – Play Pass is already in Brazil, but Play Points is not yet.

The number of 220 million Play Points participants is significant: for comparison purposes, the globally recognized Amazon Prime has 230 million subscribers, according to multiple sources, so Google is already on track to rival one of the world’s leading subscription platforms. Marketplace.

Also at GDC 2024, Google confirmed greater attention to Google Play Pass support for PC players, adding native publishing support for some more games in the catalog, such as Genshin Impact, Lineage 2M, Odin: Valhalla Rising It is Dragonheir: Silent Gods. With this, you can access PC versions (if available) of apps also present in the Play Store, with the same account.

Finally, Google Play Pass should arrive in South Korea “later in 2024”, said the company while celebrating the 120% increase in the platform’s total subscriber volume.

In Brazil, Google Play Pass is available in monthly (R$ 9.90) or annual format (R$ 89.99 in a single payment).
