Both coordinate a survey at the Brain Institute of UFRN (Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte), carried out through an online questionnaire open to the whole of Brazil, and which aims to find respondents who are users and non-users of cannabis, whether medicinally or no.
Currently, UFRN carries out other research on the topic and received authorization from Anvisa to plant marijuana, to produce extracts in a controlled process for scientific research into epilepsy in rodents.

“There is a widespread perception among users that marijuana affects dreams, but this is not well mapped. Dreaming is important for human health, cognition and emotional balance. Therefore, cannabis can have considerable meaning in life mental”, says Sidarta Ribeiro, in an interview with Live well.
Muniz states that the research aims to uncover some questions beyond the reports, such as understanding access to medicinal cannabis, investing in issues of income and racial statements, also focusing on listening to non-white audiences and those from peripheral regions of cities. In total, the study already has around 3 thousand respondents.
“About dreams, they are very rich stories, personal processes of small nocturnal epics, which are very important for our psyche and for our plot of reality in the world — it is where some logical ties capable of shaping our behavior during the day are undone”, he says the researcher.
