Coveted on the market, striker Wesley has been on the agenda for president Augusto Melo behind the scenes at Corinthians. This Friday (10), in an interview with journalist Benjamin Back, the director revealed that he has already turned down four offers for the young player.
“Corinthians will sell for the right price, for the price he thinks he deserves. This story of Corinthians being a surrogate is over.” It also revealed the 19-year-old striker’s termination fine: 100 million euros, equivalent to R$554 million at the current price.
Behind the scenes, Corinthians signals to the clubs a request for 30 million euros (R$166 million) for Wesley. Timão holds 70% of the athlete’s economic rights. Among the Europeans interested, West Ham, from England, is the one who has the most incisive conversations about the signing.
Promoted to Corinthians professional in 2022, Wesley only really received space on the team this season. In 2024, there are four goals scored, in addition to the status as an absolute starter in the squad led by António Oliveira.
