Fans celebrated when Santos arrived in Manaus (Credit: Disclosure)
The cast of Santos was received with a party at Eduardo Gomes airport, in Manaus, in the early hours of this Friday. Peixe faces Amazonas this Saturday, at 5 pm, at Arena da Amazônia, in the fourth round of the Serie B of the Brazilian Championship.
Dozens of Santos fans, of all ages, went to the airport to welcome the team. The players were very helpful and didn’t mind taking photos and signing autographs for the Santos fans, even though they were tired from the trip and schedule. Peixe trains in Manaus in the late afternoon of this Friday and the activity should also be attended by many fans.
The Saints hasn’t played in Manaus since 2014. The last clash in the state took place in 2014, against Princesa do Solimões, in a match valid for the Copa do Brasil.
The team led by Fabio Carille leads Series B, with nine points gained after three rounds. Amazonas, this Saturday’s opponent, is only in 18th place, with one point gained.
